I think we may be forgetting about the southern edge of Cantha. Has anyone else noticed that while Tyria and Elona seem to be completely visible, Cantha's landmass just goes off the map. Maybe we'll be doing something in that area? It would be possible, considering the Factions team will be making Ch.4. However, I think I may be seeing a bad pattern here. Prophecies and Nightfall (Team 1) were seen as great successes, but Factions(Team 2, also the team to make Ch.4) is seen by most to be absolute crap, so I hope Team 2 doesn't stick to the current trend.

Nolani
Found another clue in the nightfall manual.
1060 DR | 1370 CC | 860 AE |: Nolani is founded
Of course, this might refer to Nolani Academy, but it isn't mentioned in the prophecies manual. So why would they add it in the nightfall manual?
My best guess is that Nolani is either a province or the name of the continent in chapter 4.

In one theory about chapter 4, if it takes place north of Tyria, then most likely all the land mass would be frozen (if you are picturing a globe). And if chapter 4 is based on Norse mythology, then there should be new race of humans (vikings, valkyries, and some eskimos for kicks?). And about the Giants that were mentioned, there wasn't much information about them. Reading Beacon's Perch mentions this "Named the Legendary Dwarven warrior who single handedly held off the great giant invasion of 534 A.E." The problem with Giants is that they could be either Titans or the various Giants in Tyria.
If the new place is called Nolani, then it would be based on magic users? It is explained that Nolani academy was "...most prestigious schools of magic on the entire continent." This could explain if somehow The Seers and The Mursaat are part of this. Mursaats and Seers are mainly magic users, excluding Jade Armors.
Another theory of chapter 4 could be the mysterious sea, which is mentioned in the Nightfall manual "Between the Northwest coast of Cantha and the southern rim of Elona, a deadly sea is troubled by sudden storms and cyclones, hidden reefs, and dangerous sea creatures. These waters were once navigated by Luxon raiders from Cantha, and to this day, brigands from many cultures search for secret coves hidden by these deadly waters." Could chapter 4 be a whole bunch of island hopping and ship sailing perhaps? One thing about Cantha doing trading with the Northern area might not be North of Tyria. It could be another continent above Cantha instead. Is Cantha directly south of Tyria? Or is there another continent west of Tyria instead? Maybe from there we could find out who the Mursaat and Seer are.

Nolani Academy is named after the greatest mesmer of all time: Nolani Blaze.
Like, dûh!
Edit: good point though, but IIRC, it was also in mentioned in the timeline of Prophecies. I think it's just because Elona is a country/province/state of Tyria. But would be nice to find the origin of this.
Another edit: Nolani is just the name of the town: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Nolani_...%28Location%29

Then again, I heard a rumor that chapter 4 was going to be South American themed, in which case:
"Mursaat can be found in the Southern Shiverpeaks and the Ring of Fire Islands, and in lore it is said that the Unseen Ones have a city deep inside the Maguuma Jungle." (Taken from Guildwiki)
Nightfall tied up a lot of loose ends regarding Prophecies and Factions, but nothing to do with the Mursaat.
Mind you the South American theme is just a rumor; I can't find anything in the NF handbook about it.

The mursaat city is in the south of Magumma near to the river passage that takes u to Riverside province.
The ferryman Old Joness speaks of a shadow hanging over the Ullen River that hides what lies beyond its shores. He says it is cast by something "unseen".

The South American rumour in that clip with the dutch guy was a fake rumourstarter. That guy doesn't even work for NCSoft or Arenanet and talked like he knew nothing about the game.

I see. Well I'm almost glad it was just a rumor . . . I'm rather sick of jungles anyway.

For those of you who are talking about Orr... Although I would like to explore the debris of orr, it is highly unlikely as it's located on the southern region of Tyria. Take a look over by the crystal desert, to the west of it is a peninsula that looks like it was shattered. That is orr.
The lich wasn't always evil, he was originally the actual vizier that you saw helping the Shining blade in human form. He is the one who went into the catacombs of orr and opened the scroll that brought about the doom of orr, and the invading charr in that region.
The charr invaded ascalon and swept through, and then split up. Some went west towards Kryta, where they were beaten, and some went south through the mountains between ascalon and the crystal desert, and made their way west to orr where the Vizier read the scroll, destroying orr and the charr with them. The surviving charr just continued to bombarde ascalon because they couldn't beat kryta and orr was gone.

Yeah, to my knowledge the Charr came through the wall by destroying it and Ascalon with it. After that, they went to Kryta (probably chasing the fleeing Ascalonians) and head south to Orr. They got pwned by the White Mantle in Kryta and the vizier blowed everything up, including the Charr.

well as much as I'd like to see a mesoamerican inspired chapter 4, most clues are pointing to the north, the only thing pointing west is the mursaat city. Even so I think we'll be knowing more about the mursaat in chapter 4 despite it being in the north, I mean, think of them, their stronghold is somewhere deep into the magumma (wich we dont know how big it is) and even so they had the resources to build a fortress in the ring of fire, stop the char invasion, take control of Kryta, and assault the shiverpeaks. sure, with all the tyhings that happened in prophecies it seems they had to retreat back to the jungle. But if Abbadon is no more, what is the new agenda of the mursaat? I hope we get to know more about them.

The titans susposally wiped them out (although im sure theres probally some survivors), that was part of the flameseeker profecies, that is why the Mursaat tried so hard to stop it ever taking place. If u do Defend Droknors Forge u will see Scattered Mursaat corpses where the titans have ahhnilated them.

Im not saying there probally arnt, but we dont know that since there is no mention of them quest wise after that. Eg. No Defend the Mursaat City Quest. And since the Titans seemed pretty happy running around un contested near Denravi which is near to the mursaat city we can only presume either the mursaat hid or they got totally wiped out

even so, i dont think the mursaat have anything to do with the 4th chapter. we already know that its going to take place north of the known tyria. the only leads we have are the dwarven guy fending off a bunch of giants that attacked from the north and the watchtowers that were built along giants basin to help defend against an attack from the north. most likey from the same source. the area that these clues point to would likely be temperate, wooded, and mountainous due to the map.
there were also remains of giants found in the crystal desert, though these giants may have all died off due to the climate, margonites, or forgotten. which is why they are only remains.

I think that chapter 4 is many year after 1,2 and 3. I'ts located North of Tyria so we get to see more of the shiverpeaks, the charr homeland, maybe more magunna jungle. O and the final boss is Gwen at adult age. She would be ether a warrior or a mesmer (she say she would like to be a warrior but the mesmer outfit is nicer in pre-sear)

Ok, So far people have been saying: "we KNOW ...", "FOR SURE..." and stuff like that. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR SURE YET. NO OFFICIAL WORD HAS BEEN RELEASED YET, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CHAPTER 4 IS BEING MADE.
Sorry, had caps on lol.

HaHa i was one of them, i always knew she was Evil
Say if Gwen return as a Boss she would be an ele if anything. Gwen Firestorm Ftw!
Is it me or is Kryta totally paranoid, They have watch towers in the north to guard from unknown Northern Threat, they Have Watch Towers to the south to guard from the unknown Southern Threat. They Have Large Fortresses all over the place. For a Peaceful nation they seem to do alot of Waring (Excluding the White Mantles Waring ofc)
